The Horse
Marquis de Sade is a big, scopey gelding by Invincible Army out of the Kodiac mare Katrine, standing around 16hh and bred on a particularly interesting cross. He is a full brother to Love Billy Boy, a four-time winner who reached an official rating of 96 and improved with age.
His pedigree also features 3×3 linebreeding to Rafha, appearing through Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, an example of the Rasmussen Factor that originally made the mating particularly interesting to us.
Physically and on pedigree, we expect him to appreciate around 7f–1m initially, with the potential to develop further as a three-year-old.
This syndicate is structured as an upfront acquisition cost as follows, each share is an outlay for a % equity in this horse. There will be no further expected costs until October 2026.
*The monthly fee excludes emergency veterinary surgeries or procedures. At this point, we will consult all members regarding the situation and plan accordingly.
Monthly fees begin October 2026 at £40/€50 per 1% equity share per month and run for the duration of the syndicate.
The share price includes: Purchase price, bloodstock agents commission, vetting, transport and training fees.
Once we have sold the horse we will disburse any syndicate funds back to shareholders within 8 - 10 weeks on a pro-rata basis. All net prizemoney won by the horse will be returned to the shareholders on a pro-rata basis.
If we believe that we can increase the horses’ value by keeping in training for 2028 we will decide by majority vote with syndicate members.
The Trainer
Charlie Clover is one of the emerging young trainers on the Flat in the UK. He has already recorded 37 winners from 202 runners at an 18% strike rate.
